How much of our attention do we give to the experience of eating?
We may give a lot of attention to preparing to eat—choosing a restaurant and considering the menu or selecting a meal to prepare, gathering the ingredients, and cooking the meal. But often, once we begin to eat, we put our attention on anything but the food—conversation, entertainment, worries, plans, etc.
A Mindful Lunch is a weekly event where, through a guided mindful eating exercise, we can slow down, deeply appreciate what we are eating, and practice cultivating a more intentional relationship with food.
The event begins at 12:00 noon and ends at 1:00 PM, with guided mindful eating beginning at 12:15, followed by a brief discussion, and then free time to talk, eat more, or leave so that you can get back to where you need to be on time.
The cost is $15 per person, per event, paid in advance by at least 24 hours so that we know how much food to prepare. Please notify us of any dietary restrictions by the Friday before the event so that we have time to make accommodations.
